PALO ALTO, Calif. – September 9, 2015 – Two members of management consulting firm Strategic Decisions Group (SDG) will be featured speakers this month at the Aging T&D Infrastructure conference, a forum designed to address decisions and strategies for utility companies managing transmission and distribution assets. The conference will be September 21-22 at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago.
Jonathan Rich, an SDG senior consultant with substantial experience in portfolio management in the energy sector, will present the keynote address, “T&D Asset Management: Challenges, Pitfalls, and the Need for a Strategic Perspective.” He will discuss how to think strategically about constrained resources and the demands of aging infrastructure – going beyond repair-and-replacement planning to fully incorporate technology, information, and processes to better manage T&D assets.
Pallav Sudarshan, an SDG senior engagement manager who manages multiple projects for one of SDG’s largest utility clients, will discuss how leading utilities have incorporated an approach to quantify value in a consistent manner so that criticality and reliability can be compared on an equal footing with other contributors to value. His presentation, “An Economic Approach to Utility Decision Making,” will take place on Day 2 of the conference.
