Decision-Making Process

A major chemical company wanted to launch an ambitious, value-focused strategic decision-making process throughout the corporation. Rather than rely on a single consulting firm for implementation, our client insisted on surveying the most successful tools, systems, and processes used by leading corporations and enterprises throughout the world, and on identifying the best practices and processes now being implemented by the world's leading management consultancies.

Business managers report that the process gives them a much clearer understanding of the critical issues surrounding their strategic choices, and generates strong consensus in the decision-making process.

The resulting value-focused strategic decision-making process adopted by the corporation incorporates much of SDG's Dialogue Decision Process in addition to best practices originating in academia and other management consultancies.

Working with corporate staff, SDG consultants designed and led courses to train company analysts in the process. They then coached business teams, using the process for the first time to set strategy. Business managers report that the process gives them a much clearer understanding of the critical issues surrounding their strategic choices, and generates strong consensus in the decision-making process.
