Decision Education Foundation

The mission of the Decision Education Foundation is to improve the lives of young people by teaching them how to make better decisions. In workshops across the country, DEF trains teachers and mentors, providing tools for creating and delivering classroom-ready decision skills curricula for students.

DEFDEF also works with partner organizations to promote decision training and to assist in tailoring decision lessons to their particular audiences.

Examples of partner projects are:

  • The development of multidisciplinary decision curricula for public and private K–12 classrooms and after-school centers
  • A documentary film production trip to Nepal for San Francisco Bay Area teens, which combined critical decision making with a cross-cultural research project
  • The creation of a decision sciences school in the Midwest
  •  Decision coaching for at-risk youth.

Senior members of SDG's staff founded the organization, and for several years SDG incubated the organization with administrative support, office support, and in-kind donations.
