We support clients by identifying strategic opportunities to rapidly enter new markets, obtain new technologies, or supplement product lines through acquisition. Once the value opportunity is clear, SDG identifies and screens potential acquisition targets, modeling the value of the merged enterprise to our client company. SDG develops the necessary strategic and operational change plan to ensure that the acquiring firm reaps the full value of the transaction.
Likewise, we help our clients divest assets or businesses that are of low potential to their own shareholders, but potentially of great value to others. SDG supports management in developing a short list of appropriate buyers, modeling the value to those buyers, and managing due diligence. To the divesting company, targeting strategic buyers frequently results in significantly higher prices for assets or businesses than the internal NPV from retaining the business.
