Mazen Skaf
Managing Director, Europe and Middle East

Dr. Skaf is experienced in strategy development and evaluation, portfolio management, and negotiation analysis. He has worked in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, automobile manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation and marketing, and high tech equipment manufacturing. He leads the Europe and Middle East consulting practices. Dr. Skaf is also an instructor in SDG’s decision education program. He has developed and led several executive courses and briefings on corporate strategy, decision analysis, risk management, and financial derivatives. In 1999, Dr. Skaf and his client, Donald W. Spillman of Shell Oil Company, received the first INFORMS Decision Analysis Practice Award for their joint work in portfolio management. Dr. Skaf holds a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas and an MS and PhD in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University. His doctoral dissertation was on the use of financial engineering and real options in the design of negotiated agreements. In 1998, he was elected Fellow of the Stanford Center on Conflict Resolution and Negotiation.
