Mark Matousek
Principal Consultant

Mr. Matousek has 18 years of experience in corporate strategy development and business and asset portfolio management in the energy industry. He has assisted both electric and telecommunication utilities in understanding the value and risk of their businesses, in developing major new business opportunities, in managing their major risks and in adapting to changing regulatory environments. He has been instrumental in developing and selecting corporate strategies for power and gas clients in such areas as resource allocation, business diversification, marketing, R&D planning, and coal supply. He has also given expert testimony, assessed potential acquisition candidates, and developed strategies for entering the electronic information market in several industries. Mr. Matousek led SDG's Power and Gas Utilities Practice for many years. Previously, he was the pesident of Power Management Associates, providing on-site generation and energy procurement services to large industrial clients. He was also a manager at AT&T Bell Labs and was responsible for managing the strategic planning, marketing, and financial planning activities of a new business venture. He received an MS in engineering-economic systems and a BS in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
