Dan Cornew Senior Engagement Manager
Mr. Cornew has experience in strategy and finance in the energy, technology, manufacturing, and consumer products industries. Among his recent engagements, he implemented a $500 million resource allocation strategy for a major energy producer. In the implementation, he assisted senior executives in selecting the optimal projects for maximizing enterprise value given the uncertainties the company faced. In addition, he developed the organization's ability to continue the strategic resource allocation process in the future. Also in the energy sector, Mr. Cornew provided decision support for evaluating options in a $2 billion power transmission expansion project. There he evaluated the efficacy and timing of renewable energy alternatives for meeting environmental and customer value objectives. In another engagement, he mapped the enterprise risk profile of a major technology client then implemented an Enterprise Risk Management system to maximize corporate value. Prior to joining SDG, Mr. Cornew was general manager of Mexico's leading aluminum manufacturing operation, which he grew into the market leader during a period of financial crisis. As general manager, he attended to all aspects of the business including the management of energy purchases and optimization using power factor management and time-of-usage metering. Mr. Cornew later negotiated the sale of the company to a major multinational. He was founder and CFO of Inclusion Inc. and co-developed the concept for the online social networking site ClueInn.com. He managed the company’s fundraising and strategy development. Mr. Cornew has an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and has both master's and bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering from Stanford University. He speaks fluent Spanish and is proficient in French.
