Decision Analysis
This 2½-day course explores the philosophy and tools of decision analysis, the analytic foundation for Stanford's Strategic Decision and Risk Management program, and is instructed by Dr. Ronald Howard, a founder of the decision analysis discipline.
Explore a coherent approach to decision-making with emphasis on the creation of distinctions, representation of uncertainty by probability, development of alternatives, specification of preference, and the role of these elements in creating a normative approach to decisions. You will learn to:
- Analyze the personal and professional decisions that shape lives and organizations
- Follow a decision approach that is scalable for decisions at all levels of importance
- Use concepts that clarify thinking and choice
- Avoid the pitfalls of intuitive decision-making.
