John Bugalla, a principal consultant, specializes in enterprise risk management (ERM) strategy development and implementation. He advises senior management and boards in utilizing ERM to create new measurable value, competitive advantage, reduce volatility, and enhance corporate governance.

Mr. Bugalla led the team at Willis that designed and implemented a breakthrough enterprise risk management program for United Grain Growers which is credited with increasing cash flow, improving debt rating, and increasing stock valuation by 20%.

Mr. Bugalla is the lead ERM program creator and developer for the Risk and Insurance Management Society and the Credit Union Executive Society, two education organizations serving their respective industries.

In his previous position as a managing director at Aon, a global reinsurance intermediary, Mr. Bugalla led the team that designed and implemented a unique ERM program that was credited with staving off bankruptcy for a Canadian conglomerate.

Mr. Bugalla founded the ERM group at Willis, a risk management and insurance intermediary. While there, he led the team that designed and implemented the breakthrough enterprise risk management program for United Grain Growers which is credited with increasing cash flow, improving debt rating, and increasing stock valuation by 20%. The program was described in CFO Magazine (June 2000) as the "deal of the decade" and  was featured as a Harvard Business School case study. Mr. Bugalla joined UGG's CEO to teach the case study at Harvard's MBA program.

Mr. Bugalla is the author of numerous articles on risk management and has been published in Risk Management, The Journal of Risk Education, Treasury Risk Management International, Infrastructure Finance, and Smalltimes, the leading nanotechnologyindustry publication.
